This whole Paris Hilton in jail business has my interest piqued. It doesn’t make any sense why a celebrity that is worth millions of dollars should be treated any different in the court of law. If a celebrity commits a crime, shouldn’t they go to jail for the same amount of time as a regular person would get?

Paris Hilton’s early release due to a ‘medical condition’ is uncalled for. There are other people in jail suffering in worse conditions than she did with terrible medical ailments.

I have nothing against Paris Hilton; I just don’t like how our judicial system handles celebrities and millionaires.

What are your opinions on celebrity treatment in the court of law?

I mean in terms of celebrities getting off for crimes that a person who is not rich would get a longer jail sentence for. Or even getting house arrest. When was the last time you heard of someone getting house arrest that wasn’t a celebrity? I guess money does make the man or for that matter the woman.

Yes, this relates mainly to the recent escape of Paris, but I 'm trying to look at this from a wider angle. Most celebrities get lighter penalties that half Joes. What you think about the rationale for this treatment. As in, why should some people really believe it shouldn 't be punished, aside from maybe that she is a fan of the person. I 'the means of m joes get pretty sweet deals when they have a good lawyer or a solid case, but it means the people who did something wrong and deserves the maximum punishment. Manifree (CAN 't read the rest) actually makes a sound point, but this could be discussed in the sense that any punishment could be done to be rewarding to society. If I make people who stole things work in soup kitchens would it not beneficial to society? I 'm just making the point that just because a person is talented or famous otherwise it shouldn' t make them immune to law. The only thing that really made me mad is the reasoning for why it shouldn 't be punished saying that she provides entertainment and excitement to the world. If that 's the case I guess anyone who contributes anything shouldn' t be punished
